Collaboration
One of the most significant objectives of the ARCC programme is to achieve a singularity of purpose among the wide diversity of organisations and institutions involved in the conservation of wildlife that will translate into a single strategy to achieve the common aim.
ARCC has begun creating a framework within which collaboration and cooperation can lead to more cohesive and effective action. The programme will institute a system of regular meetings and project feedbacks with its partners and supporters to ensure that plans applied to rhino and other conservation issues are based on collaborative consultation and debate and on cooperative effort.
A key ARCC objective is to bring together all of the stakeholders involved in rhino and wildlife conservation in a collaborative and cooperative effort to turn the Crisis into an Opportunity.
Located as it is in the middle of the Eastern Cape protected wildlife areas, both private and State, with access directly off the N2 highway, the ARCC headquarters is ideally placed to serve as a focal point for meetings of stakeholders for the collation and distribution of anti-poaching information.
This vital information is used for research and the development of veterinary, ecological management, technological and socio-economic approaches to rhino and wildlife conservation and as a facility for the production and distribution of educational and awareness material.
Given the diverse communications and logistical facilities which will be available in the ARCC, it also has an important role in providing administrative support to both its partner organisations and to projects which are based within it.
Some of the ARCC partners and potential partners, who can bring reality to the aim of collaboration, coordination and cooperation, and who must be the backbone of the effort to ensure the future of the rhino and all wildlife in the Eastern Cape, can be categorised as :
* Intensive Protection Zone (IPZ) Partners
* Strategic Partners
* Supporting Partners
* Donor Partners
